So I’m a regular guy who has a unique problem that I share with half the planet – I’m overweight and out of shape. Yes, I know it’s a rare condition but that’s the way it is.
When I hit 40 last December, I started getting serious about getting back in shape and started thinking. Trouble is that for the last 9 months, I’ve been just “thinking”. (You should see my brain muscles by now).
This blog is about taking action to fix things. Here’s my goal – from my present (sorry) state to a state of great physical condition.
Here’s my present state:
Age – 40
Height – 5ft 9in
Weight – 186 lbs
Smoker – Yes
Drinker – Yes (rather big on weekends)
Cholesterol – High
Diet control – None that I know of
Workout – Once a month
Stamina – Spiders outrun me easily
I know you’re surprised – Even I didn’t know how fast spiders can run
Now I’m a photographer and this morning, I went downstairs to my studio and took pictures of myself in shorts (thank God for wide-angle lenses). What I saw wasn’t nice but it was effective.
I know what you’re wondering – Why don’t I post them here? I will – in good time.
So this blog will document my sincere effort to achieve my goal – to be in a better condition than I ever have in my life.
And I know that I’ve been born with some very good genes. My body responds very well to exercise and if I work at it, can look pretty darn terrific. Heck, I’m no Mel Gibson, but I’m no Mel Brooks either
